Sewing was on the to do list this week and I love sewing these lovely little ladies! I create their faces and then embellish to create what I hope is a whimsical, fresh look.
All the pretty faces are individually created and no two are ever the same, similar but never the same!
This little batch is ready for Xmas markets and a new store that has opened up in greater Noumea, Wanderer. My good friend is having a special day out there on the 30th Nov so if there are any locals who read this go take a look they have great original stuff instore.
Well it has been a longtime since I have been here on my little blog. Time passed and lack of enthusiasm kept me well away from sharing anything with anyone who reads my little musings. About a 6 weeks ago I saw on the very inspiring Meet me at Mikes blog that Pip was going to do an online blog course, my eyebrows raised and I thought maybe I could participate in that and it may, just may get me back into spending a bit more time here. I promptly forgot about it!! But then about 10 days ago I saw around the interweb that other lovely ladies were starting this exact course. I rushed over to Pip to see if there was still places available to start and voila here I am back in my little space!
I must admit the first week was a bit of a shambles as there was all this stuff going on at Blog with Pip and life at home was somewhat crazy and I was thinking to myself why have I started now I should have waited till the next intake but I think if I held off that long I don't think I would have ever come back. Now I am here, I have given La petitie chouette a little makeover and have a much needed kick up the butt. In the 10 days since I started the e-course I have learnt a whole variety of stuff, some simple, some more complex and some I have actually been able to use to get a fresh new look to my space.
If you read my blog and find yourself in the same rut as I was in I can highly recommend taking a look at this course. It is inexpensive and I think it can help for just that little bit of extra guidance and insruction. Within the group there is a whole bunch of other like minded ladies doing the same thing as me and there has been alot of knowledge and feedback being thrown around for people to use as they see fit.Pip is a great teacher, she has been in the blogosphere for a longtime and is very keen to tell us a little of what she has learnt so a big thank you and shout out to her!
I had a request this week from a lovely lady in South Africa for some of my bubble dresses for her girls. She has a thing for purple so that was the colour wanted, the flowers just needed to match. Here are my cuties doing some modelling of the finished dresses.
Still love the way Mori Girls style themselves and can never get enough of looking at all the beautiful clothes they wear. I thought it would be fun to do a little flickr funspiration today and maybe for a few Fridays to come.
I made a new pattern for some sweet petite bunnies to send to some friends in NZ. It really is simple and fast and you can hang them anywhere you like as I put some ribbon at the top of their heads. If you would like the pattern and some simple instructions I can send them to you:)
Ok so it has taken me awhile to get back here after my last post................well you know how real life things get in the way of most of your creative pursuitsthat seems to happen alot here. In saying that I have been able to make a few things for my Etsy shop- La petite chouette.
Some super cute Easter inspired dress-up ears for your Blythe and Middies have been on the hook.
Too cute for words hey??
If they interest you at all I will need to send them off by the end of the week to reach any overseas destinations by Easter.
Myself& my friend having coffee in inner city Melbourne.
Well here we are at the begining of February 2013 and I haven't spent more than a minute here at Chez La petite chouette. Naughty me I know but there are reasons why......firstly and most importantly I haven't been in Noumea to be here. Life over Xmas & the new year was just to crazy at our holiday destination that there was no time for thoughts about creating, writing or anything of that nature. Time was spent eating, drinking and being merry, merry, merry. I will not say what will present itself this year but I do hope to visit here a little more often, hopefully be a little more crafting and try and highlight others that I have found to be crafty and inspirational.
So I can only hope that the title of this post rings true for me...............New year, New ideas!!!
